The Cardinal is common in hedgerows, wood margins, suburbs, and desert washes. Our only crested bird with a conical beak except in the Southwest, where it is replaced by the Pyrrhuloxia. Bright red male with black throat is unmistakable. Both male and female have pointed crests and thick red (or dusky in immature) beaks. Song is a repetition of loud slurred-whistles, 5-10 min.

The Cardinal is from the Premier Bird Collection by Maruri. Exquisitely detailed colorful birds of nature in cold cast porcelain (resin). Each figurine comes with a descriptive information card and certificate of authenticity. All birds come mounted on a wood base.
